The proceedings of this conference and a follow-up conference on singularity theory, which took place in Honolulu, Hawaii in August 19990, have been published as 2 volumes in the series "Travaux en Cours" by Hermann, Paris (1997), 231 pages (known as the Hawaii-Provence proceedings).
