Le Spectre de la Rose

Music: Carl-Maria von Weber, with an orchestration by Berlioz (Invitation to the Waltz).
Choreography: Michel Fokine.
Plot: Jean-Louis Vaudoyer, after a poem of Théophile Gautier.
Sets, costumes: Leon Bakst.

Premiered on April 19, 1911 by the Ballets Russes .

Dancers at the premiere: Waslaw Nijinsky (the rose), Tamara Karsavina (the girl).


In the repertory of the Paris Opera Ballet . It was filmed around 1990 with Manuel Legris and Claude de Vulpian, in the videotape Paris Dances Diaghilev.
